Thank you for choosing A&C Groundworks ("the Company"). By using our website and services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to understand your rights and obligations.
1. General Information
1.1. A&C Groundworks is a family-run business based in the UK, providing professional groundworks services including excavation, drainage, paving, and foundation works.
1.2. All services offered are subject to these terms and conditions. Engaging our services constitutes acceptance of these terms.
1.3. These terms comply with UK laws and current construction industry standards.
2. Services Offered
2.1. Our services include (but are not limited to):
Site preparation and excavation
Drainage and utility trenching
Paving and pathways
Retaining walls
Landscaping and turfing
2.2. Each project scope is confirmed in writing before commencement.
3. Quotes, Payments & Procurement (UPDATED)
3.1 Quotations
Quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.
Free quotes are provided for standard works (e.g. driveways, fencing).
Complex projects (e.g. extensions, full-site prep) may require a quote preparation fee. This will always be discussed in advance.
All quotes include labour, materials, and operational costs unless itemised otherwise.
3.2 Payment Terms
To secure your place in our schedule and ensure smooth progress, we operate a staged payment structure:
Booking Deposit (30-40%) due upon quote approval.
Mid-Stage Payment (30–40%) at a pre-agreed milestone (e.g. completion of groundworks, drainage, slab).
Final Payment due at completion and before handover.
All payments are due within 3 days of invoicing.
Late payments may incur admin charges and pause the works until resolved.
3.3 Materials & Procurement
The Company sources and supplies required materials unless agreed otherwise.
Material costs are included in the overall quote unless itemised.
If clients choose to supply materials, any delay or failure resulting from that will not be the Company's responsibility.
3.4 Non-Payment
Works will be paused if payments are not received as scheduled.
Persistent non-payment will result in legal action and cancellation of all warranties.
4. Client Responsibilities
4.1. The Client must provide:
Access to the site during agreed working hours
Accurate site and scope information
Any necessary permissions, unless otherwise agreed
4.2. Delays caused by site inaccessibility or missing permissions may incur additional charges.
5. Contractor Responsibilities
5.1. The Company is committed to:
Complying with UK building regulations and site safety standards
Maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful worksite
Communicating proactively regarding site conditions or timeline adjustments
5.2. A&C Groundworks carries full public liability and employer’s liability insurance. Proof is available on request.
6. Changes to Scope
6.1. Any agreed change in scope, design, or access must be documented in writing and may affect cost and timelines.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
7.1. Cancellations must be made in writing. Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled within 7 days of the agreed start date.
7.2. Cancellations during active works will be billed based on completed work, labour to date, and any non-refundable materials ordered.
8. Warranty & Liability
8.1. The Company offers a 12-month workmanship warranty on all standard works. Complex or structural jobs may carry an extended warranty, as agreed in writing.
8.2. Exclusions apply to:
Wear and tear
Pre-existing or undisclosed site issues
Damage from external parties
8.3. A&C Groundworks is not liable for damage to unmarked or undisclosed underground services.
9. Disputes
9.1. We aim to resolve all concerns through direct, respectful communication.
9.2. If unresolved, disputes will be handled under UK arbitration or small claims procedure as applicable.
10. Use of Website
10.1. Website use is limited to lawful personal or business enquiries.
10.2. No reproduction of content is permitted without prior written consent.
11. Privacy
11.1. Personal data is handled in accordance with UK data protection laws.
