Where It Started
A&C Groundworks started long before the company existed.
My father was a skilled lathe operator by trade, but his real love was carpentry, building and making things with his hands. As a young girl, I didn’t always appreciate it. He took me with him everywhere. Every job, every repair, every small project in his workshop. Tool chests, chairs, furniture, even building a house.
He taught me how to choose wood, prepare it, understand the tools, and respect the process from raw material to finished work. At the time, I wanted to play and I didn’t understand why I had to know every tool in his workshop.
Now I do.
As an adult, I see the value of what he gave me. He taught me care, patience, neat work, and respect for people who dedicate their lives to a craft. That is the standard behind A&C Groundworks today.
Who We Are
We’re a family-run team, led by siblings, working with a small group of people we trust. Most of what we know comes from being on site, not from sitting behind a desk. We’ve learned by doing the work, solving problems, and seeing how things actually come together.
How We Work
We don’t overcomplicate things. We turn up prepared, deal with issues as they come, and we finish what we start. We keep the site clean, we respect other trades, and we don’t leave problems behind for someone else to fix.
What We Do
Groundworks, drainage, paving, and structural prep. We work on both private and live sites, including refurb and multi-trade environments. Our crew is also available for gang hire. fully equipped with our own van, tools, and a disciplined team.
Growing the Right Way
Some clients ask us to stay on after the groundwork stage. Where it fits our skills, we support with extension works, labour support, concrete works and external making good. We only take on work we can manage safely and properly.
