About A&C Groundworks

A family business specialising in groundworks.

Where It Started

A&C Groundworks started long before the company existed.

My father was a skilled lathe operator by trade, but his real love was carpentry, building and making things with his hands. As a young girl, I didn’t always appreciate it. He took me with him everywhere. Every job, every repair, every small project in his workshop. Tool chests, chairs, furniture, even building a house.

He taught me how to choose wood, prepare it, understand the tools, and respect the process from raw material to finished work. At the time, I wanted to play and I didn’t understand why I had to know every tool in his workshop.

Now I do.

As an adult, I see the value of what he gave me. He taught me care, patience, neat work, and respect for people who dedicate their lives to a craft. That is the standard behind A&C Groundworks today.

Who We Are

Today, I run A&C with my brother. I look after enquiries, quotations and the commercial side of the business while my brother leads the work on site. Around us is a small team of people we know and trust.

Most of what we know comes from doing the work, solving problems and seeing how each part of a job affects the next.

How We Work

We don’t overcomplicate things. We turn up prepared, deal with issues as they come, and we finish what we start. We keep the site clean, we respect other trades, and we don’t leave problems behind for someone else to fix.

 What We Do

We started with smaller repairs and private jobs. As the team and our experience grew, so did the work we could take on. We now work on commercial sites as well as suitable residential projects.

Keeping the Work Together

Where the work involves excavation, drainage, concrete, paving and making good, we can carry out the connected parts as one package. This avoids splitting the job between several contractors.
